Health: Coordination Meeting to Assess Sector Performance

Health Minister Abdelhak Saihi chaired a coordination meeting with officials from his ministry to assess the performance of the health sector.

The meeting focused on the urgent need to address concerns raised by social partners. Saihi emphasized the importance of accelerating the resolution of issues related to specific statuses and indemnity systems. He instructed the newly formed commission to review the observations and proposals from social partners, with bi-weekly meetings planned from May 8 to June 5, 2025. Additional meetings can be scheduled if needed to clarify any unresolved points.

The meeting also addressed the development of emergency services, a priority in the sector’s ongoing reform efforts. Saihi highlighted the need to improve coordination within emergency services, stressing their crucial role in delivering quality healthcare to citizens. A follow-up meeting with sector actors will be held soon to discuss an action plan aimed at enhancing the efficiency and performance of emergency services within the national healthcare system.
