Launch of Practical Exams for Algeria Arts Baccalaureate

The Algerian Minister of National Education, Mohammed Seghir Sadaoui, oversaw on Monday the start of practical exams for the second session of the Arts Baccalaureate at the Ali Maâchi National School of Arts in Algiers. For the first time, this session includes independent candidates.
Held over a single day, the exams involve 149 candidates, including 18 independents, across four disciplines: music, cinema/audiovisual, theatre, and visual arts.
On this occasion, the minister reaffirmed his department’s commitment to providing the necessary material, human, and educational conditions to ensure the smooth running of the exams, with specific support for students with special needs.
During his visit, Sadaoui highlighted the importance of nurturing future artists, emphasizing the need for training rooted in Algeria’s national identity while remaining open to global cultural influences. He also recalled the priority given by the country’s leadership, particularly President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to specialized schools like the National School of Arts.
The Arts stream was introduced in Algerian secondary education during the 2022-2023 academic year, aiming to develop students’ artistic talents and provide them with a cultural framework to appreciate the historical, aesthetic, and cultural dimensions of artistic creation.
