Meziane Praises Journalists’ Strong Support for Unified Media Front

Mohamed Meziane praised the strong support from journalists for the creation of a unified national media front during the fourth and final regional meeting in Algiers on Monday. The event brought together journalists, media professionals, and various communication sector stakeholders.

Meziane highlighted the media’s essential role in countering repeated attacks against Algeria, particularly those in the digital space, often termed as “5th-generation warfare.” He emphasized the need for a unified media front to produce professional content that would address these challenges.

He also stressed the importance of adapting to the digital transformation by creating high-quality, continuous content for digital platforms and social media, aimed at combating destructive agendas. Additionally, Meziane noted the growing importance of mastering artificial intelligence and new technologies in the media sector.

Regarding local media, Meziane called it a “strategic imperative” for addressing citizens’ concerns and reinforcing national cohesion. He concluded by emphasizing the need for media content production that is both fast and high-quality, ensuring a strong response to systematic campaigns misusing freedom of expression.
