Algeria backs Africa’s voice in UN reform

Representing the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Secretary of State for African Affairs, Salma Bakhta Mansouri, took part today via videoconference in the 6th Summit of the African Union Committee of Ten (C-10) on United Nations Security Council reform.
The summit, chaired by the President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio, focused on adopting a unified African reform model to be presented to the President of the UN General Assembly as part of the ongoing intergovernmental negotiations on Security Council reform.
In her address, Ms. Mansouri reaffirmed Algeria’s unwavering commitment on behalf of President Tebboune to defending Africa’s legitimate right to fair and permanent representation on the Security Council, in line with the Sirte Declaration and the Ezulwini Consensus. She emphasized the urgency of African unity and intensified collective efforts to ensure comprehensive reform that restores balance to the international order based on justice and equity.
