Algerian poets honored

The 8th edition of the National Youth Poetry Festival in Mostaganem celebrated emerging poetic talent from across Algeria, awarding top honors in three major categories.
The five-day festival brought together over 80 poets from 32 provinces and concluded with a vibrant closing ceremony at the Djillali Benabdelhalim Regional Theater, featuring Andalusian music by the Ibn Badja Cultural Association and artist Fayçal Benkrizi.
Alongside the competition, a conference on youth poetry gathered scholars, poets, and educators to discuss the future of poetic expression. Organized by the Mostaganem Directorate of Youth and Sports in collaboration with the local cultural league, the event aims to nurture young voices and elevate artistic appreciation across Algeria’s poetic traditions.
