Algerian Parliament delegation visits Guatemala congress

An Algerian parliamentary delegation visited Guatemala’s Congress on the sidelines of the General Assembly of the Central American Parliament (Parlacen), the People’s National Assembly said Saturday.
Led by Deputy Speaker Toufik Kazzout, the delegation was received by Guatemalan counterpart Mario Galvez, in the presence of Parlacen Vice-President for Guatemala, Edgar de León.
Talks focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two legislative bodies through parliamentary diplomacy, as well as coordination in regional and international forums.
Kazzout recalled Algeria’s long-standing principles rooted in its liberation struggle respect for state sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs, support for peoples’ right to self-determination, and commitment to international law.
For his part, Galvez expressed pride in welcoming the first Algerian parliamentary delegation to the Guatemalan Congress and voiced readiness to maintain and expand this channel of communication.
