Naâma police bust major drug network

In Naâma Province, police forces dismantled an international drug trafficking network last week, arresting ten individuals and seizing 68 kilograms of processed kif originating from Morocco.

The operation was carried out by the Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI) as part of ongoing efforts to combat organized crime.

Authorities tracked the shipment intended to cross southwestern border zones en route to another region inside the country. A raid on a suspect’s home led to the discovery of the drugs and the arrest of remaining members. In addition to the kif, law enforcement recovered nine vehicles, a motorcycle, 78 ecstasy pills, and over 2.3 million dinars in cash proceeds from illegal activity. The suspects have been referred to the prosecutor at the Aïn Sefra tribunal.
