Ouadah reaffirms support for Africa’s economic rise at TICAD 2025

At the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 2025) in Yokohama, Japan, Algeria reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Africa’s role as a major economic power.
Representing President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises, Nour Eddine Ouadah, stressed that Africa is at a decisive stage in its development and must place economic transformation at the heart of its priorities.
He underlined the importance of innovation, foreign investment, responsible use of natural resources, and investment in Africa’s youth as key drivers of growth. Ouadah also highlighted Algeria’s own path of reforms, diversification beyond hydrocarbons, and economic independence, which has positioned it as the continent’s third-largest economy.
The minister emphasized Algeria’s ambition to build strategic partnerships with Japan and other Asian countries, particularly in technology, renewable energy, and modern industry. He concluded by recalling TICAD’s role as a vital platform for dialogue and cooperation based on solidarity and mutual benefit.
