Algeria secures seat on UPU postal council

Algeria was elected Thursday to the Postal Operations Council of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) for the 2026–2029 term, winning 129 votes out of 157 and ranking second among Africa’s 11 seats. The Ministry of Post said this success reflects Algeria’s active role within the UPU and its commitment to building a modern, inclusive, and efficient postal sector.
