Algerian gymnasts ready to rock 2025 world in Jakarta

7 Algerian gymnasts 5 men and 2 women are gearing up to represent their country at the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, slated for October 19-25 in Jakarta, Indonesia. This marks a historic moment, as it’s the first time Southeast Asia will host this global event.
The Algerian lineup includes Adem Koughat, Houssam-Eddine Hamdouche, Bilel Bellaoui, Youcef Semani, and Ahmed Ryad Aliouet for the men, alongside Kaylia Nemour and Sihem Hamidi for the women. They’ll be competing against 483 gymnasts (279 men and 204 women) from 82 countries, all vying for glory in this individual-focused competition, with no team events on the schedule.
This 53rd edition of the championships, organized by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), allows nations to field up to six male and four female gymnasts, with a cap of three athletes per apparatus. This rule change, finalized in late 2024, gives federations more flexibility to showcase their talent. With Jakarta setting the stage for this historic event, Algeria’s gymnasts are ready to make their mark on the world stage.
