Childish act disrupt subway services

Algiers Metro service was disrupted Monday for more than an hour after children tampered with a safety device, causing nearly an hour-long delay, the operating company SEMA announced.
The prank, described as “unjustified and childish,” forced trains to stop between the 1er Mai and Place des Martyrs stations in both directions, halting traffic for 57 minutes. Service resumed after a quick intervention by technical teams.
SEMA apologized to passengers for the inconvenience and stressed that safety equipment is strictly for emergencies.
The company urged parents to teach their kids the importance of responsible behavior, warning that misuse of security systems is a serious offense that could lead to heavy fines or even legal action.
