El Tarf boosts school transport with new buses

School transport in El Tarf province has been reinforced with five new buses delivered to several municipalities ahead of the 2025–2026 school year. The handover took place Sunday evening under the supervision of the wali, Mohamed Meziane, along with local officials and mayors of the beneficiary towns.

The new buses were distributed to the municipalities of Bougous, Ramel Souk, Ain Kerma, El Chatt, and Ain El Assel. The wali explained that this initiative is part of the state’s program to better address students’ needs, especially in rural and remote areas, by providing safe and suitable transport to ensure proper schooling conditions.

He also noted that these buses add to the province’s fleet of 278 school buses 142 rented and 136  municipaloperating across 228 routes. The effort will continue, with five more buses to be distributed soon.
