14 Algerian students celebrated for language excellence

Fourteen top Algerian students were celebrated today for their outstanding performance in the international “Arabic Language Month” competition, organized by the Arab League with the International Council for the Arabic Language. The event, themed “Investing in Young Minds and Future Leaders”, was presided over by Minister of National Education, Mohamed Sghir Saadaoui .

Minister Saadaoui highlighted that the students’ achievements reflect their talent and passion for Arabic, not just rankings. They excelled in short stories, essays, poetry, calligraphy, and drawing, earning recognition as true ambassadors of creativity.

The competition attracted 2,944 entries from 2,516 schools, with 605 works reaching the national stage. Winners were selected by a national committee in early December to represent Algeria internationally.

Saadaoui noted that initiatives like this strengthen national identity, nurture young talent, and promote creativity, while reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to providing a stimulating educational environment in line with President Tebboune’s vision for schools as spaces for intellectual growth.

The ceremony was attended by the President’s advisor for education, Nasreddine Ben Taifour, and representatives from the educational sector and national organizations.
