Additional Hadj quota for elderly applicants announced

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has approved an extra quota of 2,000 Hadj booklets for the 2026 season. These will be reserved for citizens aged 70 and above who have taken part in the Hajj lottery at least ten times.

According to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior, the special lottery for this category will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025. It will take place at each wilaya’s headquarters or another suitable location chosen by local authorities and applicants or their representatives are expected to attend.
