Cyber scam busted, highway threat stopped

The National Gendarmerie recently took action on multiple fronts to protect citizens. In Annaba, a cyberfraud network exploiting social media and online banking was dismantled, with five suspects arrested and assets seized, after transactions totaling 20 million DA.

Meanwhile, in Tipaza, authorities arrested a driver caught on video driving the wrong way on a highway, endangering lives. The vehicle was impounded and an investigation opened.

These operations highlight the Gendarmerie’s ongoing commitment to tackling both digital crime and road safety threats.
