National duodrama days light up Chlef

The National Duodrama Days opened on Sunday evening in Chlef, bringing together theater troupes from several provinces and featuring a series of training workshops dedicated to this theatrical genre.

The event, inaugurated by the Director of Culture, Djamel Mahmoud Hasnaoui, began with musical performances and an artistic presentation in solidarity with the Palestinian cause, followed by the play “12 February,” directed by Aymen Ben Salah and produced by the Watin El Fann Association. The play portrays the life of a woman and her artist husband and the challenges they face.

Organized under the slogan “Through art, nations rise; through theatre, values are elevated,” the four-day event aims to introduce duodrama to the local audience and invigorate Chlef’s cultural scene through performances hosted at the House of Culture.

The program includes four additional duodrama productions from Médéa, Djelfa, Bouira and Boumerdès, which will compete for awards such as Best Performance and Best Scenography at the closing of the event.
