Oran , a rising star in Africa’s tourism

Oran has been awarded the Gold Prize by the Afro-Asian Union for Tourism, E-Commerce and Economy, officially naming the city Africa’s Best Emerging Tourist Destination for 2025. The honor was presented during a ceremony attended by senior officials and key figures from the tourism sector.

This recognition reflects the tangible progress achieved through state-led development programs, alongside Oran’s rich historical legacy, cultural vitality, and strategic coastal location. The city’s modern infrastructure spanning roads, ports, airports, and tourism facilities combined with a lively calendar of cultural, artistic, and sporting events, has strengthened its appeal year-round.

Selected by an international panel of experts from across the globe, Oran secured more than 90% of the vote, standing out not only for its tourism potential but also for the warmth and hospitality of its people. The distinction is seen as a strong boost for promoting Oran internationally and encouraging smart tourism and new investment in this strategic sector.
