Sort, recycle, thrive , Blida in full waste revolution

Blida is set to weave waste sorting into every local waste management plan moving forward, turning trash into treasure while safeguarding the environment.

Local Environment Director Wahid Tchachi announced this at a seminar on new laws boosting circular economy practices, noting that upcoming communal plans will mandate selective sorting to slash landfill volumes, ease municipal budgets with extra revenue, and map out annual waste inventories including recyclables and hazardous types.

The wilaya’s master plan, overseen by the Environment Directorate, will prioritize sorting too. Meanwhile, Microcredit Agency head Abdelwahab Benallal highlighted state perks like loans for young entrepreneurs collecting recyclables, tax breaks, and easy payment terms to spark green businesses. The event drew communal reps, cleaning firms, and student innovators for talks on waste laws, types, treatments, and recycling’s bright future.
