Algeria, Italy team up to support start-ups

Noureddine Ouadah, Minister of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups, and Micro-enterprises, received a delegation from Parthenope University of Naples, led by Rector Professor Antonio Garofalo, the ministry announced Wednesday.

The meeting took place at the public accelerator Algeria Venture, with the Italian Ambassador to Algeria, Alberto Cutillo, in attendance.The discussions focused on developing the skills and capacities necessary to build innovative ecosystems and fostering a shared approach to micro-enterprises. The visit is part of broader Algerian-Italian cooperation on entrepreneurial capacity building.

The delegation attended presentations by ministry officials highlighting Algeria’s start-up ecosystem and entrepreneurship support mechanisms, including the National Agency for Entrepreneurship Development (NESDA), the National Microcredit Management Agency (ANGEM), and the National Auto-Entrepreneur Agency (ANAE).

Parthenope University faculty also presented programs aimed at strengthening entrepreneurial skills within universities and explored prospects for sustainable development cooperation. The ministry emphasized that the initiative represents a key step in reinforcing collaboration between the two countries in entrepreneurship and innovation.
