Algeria’s SNEL snags three seats at Arab Publishers’ Union

Algeria is making waves in the Arab publishing world! Represented by the National Union of Book Publishers (SNEL), the country has bagged three seats on the board of the Arab Publishers’ Union (UEA) for the 2026–2028 session, a clear nod to its growing influence.

The victory came during the UEA’s ordinary general assembly, held alongside the 57th Cairo International Book Fair in Egypt. SNEL hailed the win as a sign of the “great trust” Arab publishers place in Algeria’s editorial scene, proving that when it comes to books, the desert isn’t the only thing that’s fertile!

The assembly also reviewed financial and moral reports from the previous session and elected the new UEA board, setting the stage for fresh collaborations across the Arab literary landscape.
