Algiers tackles storm debris across the capital

Services of the Algiers city are continuing cleanup operations following recent bad weather, with the participation of public institutions, administrative districts, municipalities, and executive departments, according to a statement released on Saturday.

The same source said that field operations are ongoing across the capital’s 14 administrative districts as part of the local monitoring cells, to assess weather-related damage in real time.

Interventions include the removal of storm debris and fallen trees, the clearing of drainage channels and sewers, and the cleaning of public areas, particularly cemeteries and beaches.

These operations are being carried out in line with the instructions of the Governor of Algiers, Mohamed Abdelnour Rabhi, with all human and material resources mobilized to ensure public safety.

The statement added that interventions will continue, especially following a special weather alert forecasting heavy rainfall and strong winds, as part of preventive measures to protect people and property
