Djellaoui inspects Bechar–Tindouf mining rail line ahead of launch

Public Works and Basic Infrastructure Minister Abdelkader Djellaoui is carrying out a working visit to Béchar and Tindouf as preparations near completion for the launch of the Béchar–Tindouf mining railway line.
The visit comes as part of presidential instructions to bring the full line into service in January 2026. Spanning 950 kilometers and completed by late December 2025, the western mining corridor links Béchar, Tindouf and Gara Djebilet, with seven railway stations now finalized. During the visit, Djellaoui is inspecting the final works, touring parts of the route aboard a test locomotive, and overseeing the first technical trials ahead of the line’s official inauguration in the coming days.
