Majority parties meet to refine constitutional and electoral reforms

A coordination meeting of the coalition of majority parties for Algeria was held on Monday in Algiers to review and further develop proposals related to the draft technical amendment of the Constitution and the draft organic law on the electoral system, according to a statement by the National Liberation Front (FLN).

The meeting was chaired by FLN Secretary General Abdelkrim Benmbarek, with the participation of representatives from the coalition’s member parties, including the National Democratic Rally (RND), El-Moustakbal Front, and El-Bina Movement. Discussions focused on refining and consolidating proposals aimed at improving the two draft texts.

The meeting followed a conference chaired by the Director of Cabinet at the Presidency, Boualem Boualem, attended by the Prime Minister and several government members. It sought to put forward practical recommendations to strengthen the democratic process and promote sound political practice, the statement concluded.
