Meeting held to secure Ramadan market supply

Acting on the instructions of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb chaired an interministerial meeting on Tuesday to review measures aimed at ensuring a steady supply of consumer goods across the national market, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

Held as part of preparations for the holy month of Ramadan 1447H/2026, the meeting focused on guaranteeing the continuous and regular availability of essential foodstuffs, particularly staple products, fruits and vegetables, as well as meat and poultry. The discussions also addressed practical steps to ensure sufficient cash liquidity, notably at Algeria Post offices and ATMs.

To closely monitor market supply and price stability throughout Ramadan, a multisectoral commission has been set up within the Prime Minister’s Office, the statement added.
