Yennayer in full bloom

In Chenoua and Kolea, Yennayer 2976 is being celebrated in true style  warm, lively and deeply rooted in tradition. Folklore, poetry, crafts and shared memories come together to paint a vibrant picture of Tipasa’s living heritage.

The festivities kick off on Mount Chenoua, a place steeped in symbolism, where songs, rhythms and ancestral dances set the tone. It’s a step back in time, a reminder that some joys never age. Poetry readings add soul to the celebration, while traditional dishes and handmade crafts showcase the quiet genius of local know-how.

From poetic evenings and folk galas to traditional attire parades and cozy kaâda gatherings, the program stays true to its roots. At the Chenoua Cultural Complex, the sound of the zorna echoes through the halls, guiding visitors into a faithful replica of ancestral homes, where history is not told  it is lived.

All in all, Yennayer in Tipasa is more than a celebration. It’s a heartfelt tribute to identity, unity and the beauty of passing traditions from one generation to the next.
