Algeria’s University press launches 2026 english-language academic books

The University Press Office announced Wednesday the start of printing English-language university textbooks for 2026, part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s strategy to promote academic openness and internationally oriented publishing.

The initiative aims to align higher education with global standards, strengthen English in teaching and research, and enhance academic training quality while showcasing national scientific output internationally.

Covering a wide range of scientific disciplines, the textbooks are prepared by university professors according to established standards, ensuring high-quality content for students, educators, and researchers.

This step also expands the University Press’s digital library, which opened to international users in late 2025, providing broader global access to national research (www.udl.opu.dz).

Through this initiative, the University Press reaffirms its commitment to supporting academic authorship, diversifying publishing languages, and advancing higher education and scientific research in line with national reforms.
