Attaf holds strategic talks with Spanish counterpart in Madrid

Algerian Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Attaf held a working session on Saturday in Madrid with Spain’s Foreign Minister, José Manuel Albares Bueno, as part of an official working visit to the Kingdom of Spain, according to a ministry statement.

The talks focused on the current state of bilateral cooperation and prospects for strengthening the Algeria–Spain partnership, particularly in energy, trade, investment, transport, as well as judicial and consular cooperation. Both sides stressed the importance of the upcoming visit of the Spanish minister to Algeria to prepare for the eighth session of the Algerian–Spanish High-Level Meeting.

The two ministers also exchanged views on key regional and international issues of mutual concern, notably developments in the Sahel region and shared challenges across the Euro-Mediterranean space.
