Djellaoui speeds up 2026 infrastructure rollout

Algeria’s Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, Abdelkader Djellaoui, is pushing to fast-track administrative procedures to ensure that major road, port, and airport projects scheduled under the 2026 program move from paper to pavement without delay.
Chairing a coordination meeting in Algiers on Sunday, Djellaoui reviewed the progress of ongoing development and maintenance programs across the national road and highway network, as well as key port and airport infrastructure projects. The session also focused on clearing administrative bottlenecks tied to operations financed under the 2026 Finance Law.
Beyond routine follow-ups, the minister called for hands-on field monitoring and stronger coordination between central authorities and regional public works directorates. His message was clear: cut red tape, remove obstacles early, and keep strategic infrastructure projects on track because in infrastructure, time lost often means opportunities missed.
