Teen star Ayachi leap into the spotlight

Algerian teen Younes Ayachi, just 17, claimed second place in the high jump at the International Indoor Meet in Almus, Belgium, on Saturday, clearing an impressive 2.26 meters.

This jump not only sets a new national U20 record but also marks the world’s best result in his age category. Ayachi continues to shine, breaking his own previous record of 2.21 meters in his first competition of the 2026 season. With just 4 centimeters left to reach the indoor World Championships qualifying mark in Poland this March, the young athlete is off to a flying start to the season.
