#Quit ChatGPT Now ! 1.5M Quit ChatGPT after U.S. Defense partnership

Following news of OpenAI’s partnership with the United States Department of Defense, backlash from users has intensified. Data from Sensor Tower shows that uninstalls of the ChatGPT mobile app in the United States surged 295% in a single day, while one-star reviews jumped 775% and downloads began to decline.
The criticism followed reports that OpenAI would allow its AI models to be used within the Defense Department’s classified operations. Since then, many users have reportedly begun cancelling subscriptions and leaving the platform. A website campaigning for a boycott, “QuitGPT,” even claims that more than 1.5 million users have already abandoned the service.“ChatGPT takes Trump’s Killer Robot Deal. It’s time to quit.”
Meanwhile, rival chatbot Claude developed by Anthropic has seen a surge in interest after the company declined to grant the Pentagon unrestricted access to its models over concerns about surveillance and autonomous weapons. Capitalising on the moment, Anthropic has made it easier for users to transfer their data from other chatbots, helping fuel a wave of migration that pushed Claude to the top of the U.S. App Store rankings and, for the first time, ahead of ChatGPT in daily downloads.
