A Goalelees Neck To Neck Sparring

The Algerian team, in a neck-to-neck face-off with its sparring partner Uruguay, has put its speed up a gear at the level of high-tension moves. A thrilling goalless match with assaults by the Greens.

Despite a long range of ongoing assaults, none of the Algerian attackers made it. It was a sort of tactical game. The final whistle by the referee put an end to a 0-0 score, much more important than the last match against Guatemala (7-1). The Algerian team had been more bullying, even threatening to score before the excellent Uruguayan keeper. Not to mention the excellent tactical show, going from triangle moves to give-and-take ball passing.

There is surely a lot to say about what is beginning to be called a reference mark for pre-World Cup games. What is to come is likely to reveal an appealing show. Slowly but surely, the Greens, right behind their boss trainer Begovitch, seem likely to end up with a smiling opening in the World Cup.
