Algeria-Ivory coast seal an energy deal

In a move to deepen economic ties, Algeria and Ivory Coast have signed a landmark agreement covering hydrocarbons and mining. The deal was finalized at Algeria’s Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Mines, with Minister Mohamed Arkab and Ivorian counterpart Mamadou Sankafoua Koulibaly leading their delegations.

The agreement aims to strengthen bilateral partnerships in strategic sectors, foster knowledge exchange, and support joint investment projects across the entire hydrocarbons value chain from exploration and production to refining, liquefied natural gas, petrochemicals, and infrastructure development. Mining cooperation will focus on geological exploration, project development, and resource valorization to create economic value and support diversification.

Capacity building and knowledge transfer are central to the pact, with joint training programs and expert exchanges planned. To ensure smooth implementation, a joint working group will oversee the collaboration, track projects, and turn strategic objectives into tangible outcomes.

This partnership highlights a commitment to mutual benefit, sustainable development, and economic integration between the two African nations.
