Four terrorists killed in army ambush in Eastern Algeria

Four terrorists were killed overnight Thursday in an ambush carried out by units of the Algerian People’s National Army in the military sector of Tébessa, the Algerian Ministry of National Defence announced Friday.

According to the ministry, the operation led to the recovery of four Kalashnikov-type submachine guns, ammunition and other equipment. The army said the ambush followed intelligence provided by its security services as part of ongoing counterterrorism operations aimed at ensuring citizens’ safety, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.

The ministry added that the operation comes shortly after another mission on March 1 in the forest of Zeddine in Ain Defla, where two terrorists were also neutralized and weapons seized.

Authorities said the operations reflect the army’s continued vigilance and determination to eliminate the remaining terrorist groups operating in the country.
