Moula reaches 800m semis as Algeria eyes strong showing in Torun

Algeria’s Slimane Moula powered into the 800m semi-finals at the World Indoor Championships in Torun, clocking 1:46.13 to qualify among the fastest.

He finished third in his heat behind Belgium’s Eliott Crestan and Spain’s Mohamed Attaoui, and will line up in Saturday’s semis.

Compatriot Mohamed Ali Gouaned fell short of qualification, while Yasser Mohamed Tahar Triki heads into the triple jump final later today.

Young talent Younes Ayachi will also be one to watch in the high jump final, as Algeria looks to make its mark on the global stage.
