New strategy to revive national cinema

Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb chaired a ministerial meeting on Wednesday to review the national cinema strategy for 2026–2030. The plan serves as a key roadmap inspired by the commitments and directives of Abdelmadjid Tebboune, particularly those expressed during the National Cinema Conference held in January 2025.

The strategy adopts a comprehensive vision that views cinema as a national project combining cultural, economic and investment dimensions. It aims to build a modern and competitive film industry capable of meeting the expectations of Algerian audiences while revitalising national film production and strengthening the sector’s role both culturally and internationally.
