1.1 tons of Morrocan cannabis seized by the army

Algerian army units scored a major anti-smuggling win Tuesday, intercepting more than 1.1 tons of processed cannabis near the western border.
According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense, the operation took place in the Bechar military sector, where joint army patrols acted on intelligence to stop a large shipment allegedly coming from Morocco.
Officials said the seizure estimated at 11 quintals and 10 kilograms highlights ongoing efforts to crack down on trafficking networks targeting the country.
The military stressed the operation reflects its continued commitment to protecting national security and keeping illicit drugs off the streets.
