Assembly Speaker Boughali praises Army For Total mines removal

Algeria is turning a painful chapter into a global call for action. Marking the International Day for Mine Awareness, Speaker of the National People’s Assembly Ibrahim Boughali reflected on the lasting scars left by colonial-era landmines, while reaffirming Algeria’s commitment to banning and criminalizing their use.
In a statement, Boughali highlighted the massive efforts led by the National People’s Army, which has cleared millions of mines and reclaimed vast stretches of land once deadly, now restored for life and development.
He described Algeria’s experience as a leading humanitarian model, one that not only protects its citizens but also strengthens international awareness around the dangers of landmines.
For Algeria, the message is clear: a safer future means a world free of hidden threats.
