A New contender enters the WorldSkills stage

Algeria has officially joined WorldSkills International, marking a strategic step to elevate vocational training and position its youth on the global stage.
Speaking at a ministerial meeting, Vocational Training Minister Nacima Arhab said the move reflects Algeria’s commitment to promoting excellence and expanding opportunities for young talents to compete internationally.
Preparations are already underway for WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, where Algeria will compete in three specialties.
The announcement builds on momentum from the national skills olympiad held in Oran last November, which brought together over 500 participants across a wide range of sectors—from construction and ICT to creative arts and fashion—highlighting a growing culture of performance and ambition among the country’s youth.
