Algeria dispatches 7 tonnes of medical supplies for Hadj 2026

Algeria has begun transporting 7 tonnes of medical supplies to Jeddah to support the 41,300 pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hadj season.

Managed by the National Office of Hajj and Umrah (ONPO), the shipment includes over 200 types of medication, with a specific focus on pilgrims suffering from chronic illnesses. Notably, over 90% of these supplies are locally manufactured in Algeria.

A dedicated medical team of 114 doctors will oversee the distribution of these supplies across health centres in Mecca, Medina, and Jeddah.

Key Logistics:

-First Flight: Scheduled for 29 April from Houari Boumediene Airport.

-Total Flights: 144 departures scheduled across 12 national airports, including Oran and Constantine.

-Strategy: Officials emphasized that these proactive measures reflect the government’s commitment to ensuring the health and comfort of Algerian worshippers throughout the season.
