Algeria welcomes ceasefire deal

Algeria has welcomed a preliminary agreement to halt military operations in the Gulf and the broader Middle East, praising international mediation efforts that helped secure the deal.

In a statement released Wednesday, the Foreign Ministry described the move as a step toward easing regional tensions and opening the door to lasting political solutions.

Algiers also called on all parties to remain engaged in good faith with mediators to ensure sustainable security, while stressing that stability in Lebanon must not be overlooked.
