Army infrastructure drive strengthens readiness, Says Army Chief

Algeria’s Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Saïd Chengriha, chaired the annual meeting of military infrastructure officials, highlighting the sector’s growing role in boosting the army’s operational capabilities.

In a keynote address delivered in person and followed remotely by officials across the six military regions, Chengriha praised the central directorate for military infrastructure for its contribution to strengthening readiness. He emphasized both operational achievements through the construction of modern, high-quality facilities and social efforts aimed at improving living conditions for military personnel.

He noted that, under the leadership of the President and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the sector has seen significant progress in recent years. Major projects include the development of hospitals, social facilities, and operational bases, reflecting both the scale of efforts deployed and the professionalism of those involved.

The meeting also featured a detailed presentation by the director of military infrastructure, outlining key activities under the 2025–2026 plan, as well as updates on ongoing projects across the National People’s Army.
