Fresh sheep shipment lands in Algiers ahead of Eid

A new shipment of imported sheep docked Monday at the Port of Algiers, as authorities move to stabilize prices and ensure supply ahead of Eid al-Adha.

The operation is part of a broader plan directed by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to protect citizens’ purchasing power during the high-demand holiday season. Officials say strict logistical and veterinary measures were in place to guarantee smooth unloading and product safety.

More shipments are expected in the coming days, aiming to boost market availability and prevent price spikes as Eid approaches.
