Oran Kickoff: The Tour of Algeria 2026 hits the road

The 26th Tour d’Algérie Cycliste (TAC 2026) hit the tarmac in spectacular fashion this Friday, as 120 riders surged from the starting line in Oran.

Under the watchful eyes of Wali Brahim Ouchane and FAC President Kheireddine Barbari, the peloton featuring eight local Algerian squads and two international formations embarked on a punishing 126.7 km opening stage from the Mohamed Ben-Ahmed Congress Centre.

As the “Tour of the People” weaves through Algeria’s stunning landscapes, this edition promises a masterclass in endurance and tactical grit. With 10 teams battling for the yellow jersey, the road from Oran marks the beginning of a high-speed journey that remains the crown jewel of the nation’s sporting calendar.
