US-Iran Talks heat up: Top delegations arrive

High-stakes US-Iran negotiations kick off Saturday as both sides assemble powerhouse teams. The US delegation, led by Vice President JD Vance with Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, landed to join Iran’s earlier arrivals.

Iran’s lineup features parliamentary powerful speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Defense Council Secretary Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati, and key parliament members. Ghalibaf stressed Friday that a Lebanon ceasefire and release of frozen Iranian assets must precede talks though the US and Israel reject the ceasefire’s scope.
