2 Terrorists surrender as Army intensifies nationwide security operations

2 armed militants surrendered to military authorities in In Guezzam, while Algerian army units arrested six individuals suspected of supporting terrorist groups in coordinated operations across the country between May 13 and 24.

According to the latest operational report from the People’s National Army, the suspects turned themselves in in the country’s far south, handing over weapons and ammunition, while security forces continued targeted raids against support networks.

In parallel efforts, military detachments reported broader nationwide operations targeting organized crime, smuggling, and illegal migration, reflecting what officials described as sustained pressure on security threats across multiple regions.

Authorities say operations remain ongoing as part of intensified efforts to dismantle remaining extremist and criminal networks.
