A Heatwave expected across several regions

The desert heat is cranking up this afternoon as the National Meteorological Office (ONM) issued a Level 1 weather alert for several southern regions.

Residents in In Salah, Adrar, and Bordj Badji Mokhtar should prepare for a significant temperature spike starting at midday today, with the mercury expected to remain high until at least 6:00 PM. While the Sahara is no stranger to the sun, officials are urging locals to stay hydrated and take cover during these peak hours as this latest heatwave sweeps through the region.
