AI and Algerian startups drive talks at Kazan forum


At the Kazan Forum 2026 held in Russia , Algeria pitched itself as an emerging digital hub, highlighting its young tech talent, expanding infrastructure, and growing appetite for AI-driven investment.
During talks focused on the digital economy and tech cooperation, Minister Noureddine Ouadah pointed to the country’s push into large-scale data centers and innovation ecosystems, calling for stronger partnerships built on technology transfer and startup financing.
The forum, gathering delegates from more than 90 countries, also spotlighted growing scientific ties with Russia, as officials explored new ways to back startups across the Islamic world. In today’s economy, data is the new oil and everyone wants a bigger share of the barrel.
