Algiers calls for african control over escalating conflicts

At a national seminar in Algiers, Army Chief Saïd Chanegriha warned that conflicts across Africa are increasingly shaped by foreign powers, not just internal tensions, turning some crises into arenas of global competition.

He said outside actors are exploiting fragile states, deepening divisions and instability. In response, Algeria is promoting an approach based on sovereignty, dialogue, and African-led solutions.

The vision, aligned with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, calls for stronger cooperation between African nations and rejects externally imposed solutions in favor of regional unity and independence.
