Attaf, Iranian FM review Gulf tensions and talks

Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf held a phone conversation on Monday with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, according to an official statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the call, the Iranian side briefed Attaf on ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at restarting negotiations to end the military escalation in the Gulf region.
For his part, Attaf reiterated Algeria’s firm belief that only a diplomatic solution can resolve the crisis, stressing the need for sustained international efforts to de-escalate tensions affecting the entire region.
He also expressed hope that the current ceasefire would hold and be strengthened, paving the way for a broader political process capable of establishing lasting and stable peace in the region.
