Deadly 24 hours across Algeria

Two people lost their lives and 256 others were injured in road accidents reported across several regions over the past 24 hours, according to a statement released Sunday by Algeria’s Civil Protection services.
In separate incidents, Civil Protection divers recovered the bodies of three people who drowned in Mila and Illizi . The victims included a 15-year-old teenager who drowned in a water reservoir in the area of Machtat El-Sibari, near Grarem Gouga, as well as two other individuals who lost their lives in a wadi in the municipality of Debdeb.
Meanwhile, firefighters responded to two separate blazes in Batna and Oum El Bouaghi. One of the fires left a woman with first-degree burns, while emergency teams successfully contained both incidents.
The latest figures highlight another busy day for emergency services as authorities continue to urge citizens to exercise caution on the roads and near bodies of water, particularly as temperatures begin to rise.
